Anti-counterfeiting conference to be held in London

teaser

The Seventh Annual Pharmaceutical Anti-Counterfeiting conference will held in London, UK, on 26-27 June 2012.

“Counterfeit medications are becoming a huge problem for many aspects of the pharmaceutical community from big pharma companies, through to wholesalers and down to end user level where patients are affected,” the conference committee states in its notification email.

According to the US FDA, 10% of drugs sold internationally are counterfeit, although this is very hard to assess.

Speakers from pharmaceutical companies, industry bodies and academia.

These include Steve Allen, Senior Director of Pfizer; Tomasz Dzitko, CEO at Delfarma; Danny Lee-Frost, Head of Operations, Enforcement Group, MHRA; Monika Derecque-Pois, Director General, European Association of Pharmaceutical Full-Line Wholesalers; and Ram Balani, CEO and Founder of FDASmart.
