B. Braun Medical has released the programme for its sixth workshop for improving patient safety with injectable drugs, to be held on Wednesday 17th October 2012.

The event, which runs from 10:00am until 15:45, when it will draw to a close with ‘final comments and questions’, builds on B Braun Medical’s long heritage in the delivery of injected drugs and to market in Europe and the USA.

It will take place at The International Convention Centre in Birmingham, UK.

B Braun Medical says in the programme that the format for the workshop, “will be to provide a platform for the sharing of information and the stimulation of discussion, on the best ways that trusts can act in order to improve patient safety”.

It will open at 10:00am with the Chairman’s Introduction by Laurie Goldberg, Independent Pharmacy Consultant.

This will be followed by two antimicrobial talks at 10:40 and 11:15 on ‘antimicrobial allergy and patient safety’, which will be given by Philip Howard, Consultant Antimicrobial Pharmacist at Leeds Teaching Hospital, and ‘outpatient antimicrobial therapy’ by Mark Gilchrist, Consultant Antimicrobial Pharmacist at Imperial College NHS Trust in London, UK, respectively.

Later talks will focus on safe use of intravenous injections in children and the ‘clinical evaluation of medical devices’.
