teaser

Codonics Inc. Safe Label System SLS 500i was named the winner of a Silver Stevie® Award in the Best New Product of the Year category for Health and Pharmaceuticals in the 9th Annual International Business Awards (IBA) today.
Codonics Safe Label System is an FDA approved class 2 medical device used in the operating room or anywhere medications are prepared. The system addresses the three most common medication errors made in the operating room including vial/ampoule swaps, mislabeling/illegible labeling and syringe swaps. SLS enhances medication labeling safety by incorporating barcode technology to improve patient safety as well as workflow, acting as an electronic “triple check”. SLS provides visual and audible confirmation of medications to ensure the drug selected is the intended drug prior to administration.
“We are truly honored to receive the Stevie Award for the Safe Label System. SLS is a first-of-its-kind technology and an innovation that has the ability to save lives,” said Peter O. Botten, President and CEO, Codonics. “SLS applies leading-edge technologies to simplify and automate “best practices” wherever medications are prepared to enhance patient safety and reduce costs. Codonics is committed to technologies that will improve healthcare for patients and providers, and lower costs through improved safety and efficiencies”.
