teaser

Leading executives from Pfizer, Novartis, Wyeth, GSK, Bayer, AstraZeneca and Merck are set to discuss the future of the pharmaceutical industry, it has been announced.

Information group eyeforpharma is holding its fifth annual Patient Compliance & Communication conference in London on June 11.

The two-day event includes presentation sessions and workshops, and will look patient compliance, and ways of fighting off competition from generic manufacturers.

Manos Papadakis, a brand manager at GlaxoSmithKline, said: “This is the perfect opportunity for brand managers from across Europe to gather and discuss the implications of the rapidly advancing patient compliance and communications area on our products.

“I envisage it could be one of the defining features of success in the near future, though of course nothing is certain.”

Keith Allan, global head of advocacy at Novartis, added: “I am involved with this conference because I believe we need to develop meaningful connections between the industry, stakeholders and patients.

“Patient Compliance offers an exceptional chance to achieve something rare: a win-win-win scenario where patients get better, they therefore save payers money by not regressing, and of course this aids the reputation of a company or brand.

“And it allows us to work meaningfully with Patient Advocacy groups and other stakeholders to achieve this result.”
