A 1994 UK government document on preventing and managing Clostridium difficile infection has been updated in light of the rise in reported cases.
According to the UK’s Health Protection Agency, the revised guidelines are based on a comprehensive review of the literature and expert opinion and identify best practice and key recommendations for the NHS to ensure the control of such infection.
The original document was produced by the Department of Health and the Public Health Laboratory Service.
The public consultation on this document runs until 23 April 2008.
