Italy teams up with Singapore to further cancer research

teaser

The Italian FIRE Institute of Molecular Oncology (IFOM) has teamed up with the Agency for Science and Technology of Singapore (A*STAR) to set up a cancer research laboratory.

The institution, which is based in Singapore, will look at targeted cancer therapies.

The idea for the collaboration follows the Italian belief that progress in cancer research requires international sharing of technologies and ideas.

IFOM is a private international organisation set up by the Italian Foundation for Cancer Research to investigate the formation and development of tumours.

The 10-year-old foundation is setting up partnerships with respected research organisations in Asia.

When making the announcement, Marco Foiani, Scientific Director of IFOM, said: “You can’t do everything alone.”
