Pan-European hospital pharmacy visioned by EAHP

The lack of harmonization in hospital pharmacy within Europe remains, President of the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists believes.

“For this reason, the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists advocates a specialisation that is recognised by all countries,” he said.

In hospitals of many European countries, pharmacists are recognised as advocates for the safety of medicines. But this is not yet a reality in many parts of Eastern Europe, he explains.

In these areas, EAHP will continue to promote the value of hospital pharmacy to optimise medication use and patient safety.
