Pan-European hospital pharmacy visioned by EAHP

teaser

The lack of harmonization in hospital pharmacy within Europe remains, President of the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists believes.

Likewise, the specialisation of hospital pharmacy is still not mutually recognised by Member States, he explained in an interview with Hospital Imaging and Radiology Europe.

“For this reason, the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists advocates a specialisation that is recognised by all countries,” he said.

In hospitals of many European countries, pharmacists are recognised as advocates for the safety of medicines. But this is not yet a reality in many parts of Eastern Europe, he explains.

In these areas, EAHP will continue to promote the value of hospital pharmacy to optimise medication use and patient safety.
