Irish-based contract research company BioClin Research Laboratories has been acquired by UK-based quality and safety services provider Intertek.
BioClin supplies bio-analysis and analytical research and development, with advanced analytical services including liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry.
Dr Andrew Swift, executive vice-president of Intertek’s analytical services division, said the laboratory was Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) certified and a current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) facility inspected by the IMB.
Dr Swift said the acquisition advanced Intertek’s strategic growth in support services to the global pharmaceutical, medical device and drug delivery industry, and BioClin would operate in Intertek’s pharmaceutical services group.
