Stents’ eluting efficacy “remains stable”


No evidence exists of a decreasing efficacy of drug-eluting stents (DESs) over time, and the safety profile of DESs does not appear to differ significantly from that of bare-metal stents, a study has found.

In this Italian study, the researchers analysed a real-world multicentre registry to investigate the effects of drug-eluting stents beyond one year of follow-up.
