The UKCPA is a much respected organisation which has a reputation for delivering high quality education and training to the pharmacy workforce, notably through its conferences and masterclasses.
Achieving accreditation status from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society is an external recognition of this quality and is a culmination of decades of leadership and professional development expertise within the association. The UKCPA are committed to supporting the Foundation and Faculty Programmes through its training and professional development activities and initiatives, and through its affiliated partnership with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
Ann Page, Chair of UKCPA, said: “To achieve recognition from our professional body through accreditation status as a Faculty Training Provider and Foundation Training Provider is a significant and historic moment for the association and for all individuals who have contributed to its success over its 35 year history. We are committed, more than ever, to maintain our reputation and to remain in the vanguard of the development of our pharmacy workforce.”
Dr Catherine Duggan, RPS Director for Professional Development and Support said: “It is with great pleasure that we can announce that UK Clinical Pharmacy Association (UKCPA) has been awarded both Faculty and Foundation accreditation as a training provider. As part of their commitment as an affiliated partner group and in line with their Mission Statement, this is a recognition not only of the quality of the clinical training and development they deliver across the board, but also the alignment of that training with Foundation and Faculty stages of professional development.
As ever, UKCPA are pioneers amongst the affiliated partners, being the first affiliated group to achieve this. We look forward to many others applying too. It’s more important than ever before that clinical pharmacy training is available across all sectors and areas of practice to ensure patient care is delivered by a clinical workforce that can demonstrate their positive impact. Through our affiliations, we will ensure that clinical expertise and support is available for all our members”.
