Pharmacy professionals who were due to submit their revalidation by 31 October 2023 have been granted a week‘s extension by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) following technical problems with its website.
Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with an October revalidation deadline now have until 11:59pm on Tuesday 7 November 2023 to submit their revalidation.
The regulator apologised for the ‘technical issues’ affecting access to the revalidation website myGPhC and said it was ‘working to resolve any outstanding problems as quickly as possible‘.
It added: ‘We’ll provide a further update tomorrow. In the meantime, we’ve extended the deadline for those due to submit their renewal or revalidation by 31 October to 11:59pm on Tuesday 7 November 2023’.
Following technical issues that were preventing many pharmacy professionals from being able to submit their revalidation over the last few days, the regulator confirmed earlier today that the website is now ‘up and running‘ but registrants ‘may experience delays’.
Pharmacists had taken to social media to share their frustrations over the myGPhC website, with some saying on X (formerly Twitter) they had been facing these issues for the past week and had been unable to submit their renewal and revalidation.
Amid difficulties accessing the website, registrants called for the deadline to be extended as many pharmacy professionals would not have time to monitor the status of the website during the working day.
