An innovative pharmaceutical packaging format that uses a patented sliding mechanism has received an award from the World Packaging Organisation.
German company Bosch Sigpack Systems received the Packaging Award WorldStar 2007 for its Burgopak concept.
Bosch Sigpack system integration manager Andreas Graf explained said the Burgopak’s slide mechanism was unique and user-friendly.

Burgo Watson, the concept’s inventor, said the award reflected positive feedback from the market.
“Until now we produced more than 15 million packages manually.
“We are looking forward to the introduction in the UK market of the first continuous Burgopak packaging machine in the first term of 2008.”
