Solon and Notion to Take a Stake in Concentra

teaser

Concentra, the management consultancy and technology firm, has announced a major funding agreement with investment firms Solon Ventures and Notion Capital.

Richard Thompson from Solon will be joining the company as chairman, and Jos White from Notion will join Concentra’s Board as a non-executive director. The two men bring a wealth of expertise and experience from both the consultancy and technology sectors.

Thompson has over 30 years’ VC experience focusing on technology and healthcare. White was a co-founder of MessageLabs, the security software-as-a-service (SaaS) company – he served as the chief marketing officer and president of the US region. Under his leadership, the company
became one of the first UK tech firms to succeed in the US.

“This is a huge vote of confidence in our business plans and our success to date,” said Rupert Morrison, managing director at Concentra.

“Solon and Notion Capital have a history of investing in companies changing the ways things are done through technology. Their funding, and more importantly the expertise they bring to the Board, will help us reach the next level.
Eighteen months ago we were just 20 people, now we are 75 strong, driven by a new business model leveraging consulting, business and healthcare knowledge together with highly interactive web-based technology.”

“We’re a hybrid company, bringing together the best possible combination of consultancy and technology heritage,” continued Morrison.

“Our products and services solve traditional problems addressed by management consultants but using software and software-as-a-service (SaaS) that leaves a legacy long after our work is done.”

Richard Thompson, a veteran VC investor added – “I believe that the best model to invest in is one in which firms have both strong top and bottom line growth. Concentra has both and in this current economic climate it is in a strong position to realise its potential.”

Jos White from Solon commented: “We are excited about Concentra’s ability to productise consulting with web technology and develop SaaS based products that are easier to set up and deliver ROI. Truly the start of a new trend.”

Solon and Notion invest exclusively in technology companies, specialise in funding small, ambitious private firms and bringing new concepts to market. The deal will ensure Concentra can achieve its own ambitious growth plans.
