The BioIndustry Association (BIA) and the Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises (ABLE) have today, at BBE – The Business Exchange for Life Sciences conference, signed a memorandum of understanding which establishes a strategic partnership between India and the United Kingdom.

Under the terms of the partnership the two organisations will promote cooperation in bioscience in areas of mutual interest, including economic development; exchange best practice in the development of bioscience policy; and facilitate interaction between officials, scientists and technologists from India and the United Kingdom.

Nigel Gaymond, BIA Chief Executive, said: “The BIA is delighted to have established this partnership with ABLE and we look forward to working together with them on joint events and missions. We believe this partnership will encourage increased interaction between bioscience companies in the UK and India and expand the opportunities for our members to collaborate with Indian companies.”

Dr Satya Dash, ABLE Chief Operating Officer, said: “ABLE is delighted to join hands with BIA and looks forward to a meaningful and productive engagement to address the unique issues pertaining to the biotechnology/bioscience industry. The memorandum of understanding is a significant step towards greater links between the bioscience industries in the UK and India and brings together two of the leading global locations for bioscience.”
