The 16th Congress of the EAHP will take place in Vienna, Austria from 30 March to 1 April 2011.
The annual congress with an expected attendance of 3,000 participants from over 50 countries continues to grow and currently includes a programme offering three keynote presentations, 13 seminars and two workshops.
These sessions are accredited by the ACPE and a premier event for hospital pharmacists to earn continuing education points.
In addition, industry sponsors will be offering 13 satellite symposia to update pharmacists on new developments relevant to hospital pharmacy.
The annual congress also provides the opportunity for EAHP to meet and collaborate with sister organisations, 11 of which will be present for the Vienna congress.
New this year will be the BEAM Summit dissemination session.
The summit took place in The Hague during September 2010 and consisted of many presenters with the expertise able to train participants from fundamental concepts to the realisation of a state-of-the-art facility for a compounding process in a European hospital pharmacy.
Participants from from the BEAM Summit – Aspects of Compounding will give presentations based on the information learned during the three day summit.
The Aspects of Compound summit was the third in the BEAM series of projects by the European Association of Hospital pharmacy. Click here for more information.
It is under the auspices of the Academy which is part of the educational ‘arm’ of the EAHP.
The BEAM project is series of sponsored training and facilitation events (Summits) based on the cascade principle of dissemination.
Specifically Aspects of Compounding is the ‘A’ of BEAM, the remaining letters representing Biotechnology, Evidence-based medicine and Management.
The EAHP funds all participants to the event including airfare, hotel, meals, transport to the venue and registration.
The aim of the Aspects of Compounding Summit is to, ‘provide participants with opportunities to learn from a structured experience that will enable them to advance compounding practice in their respective countries’.
The next and final BEAM Summit – “Management” will take place in September 2011.
