Recall for J&J-linked medicines

teaser

Blacksmith Brands has recalled four children’s cough and cold medicines made at the Johnson & Johnson plant where US regulators found manufacturing problems.

The company said all consumers should dispose of their Multi-Symptom Cold, Long Acting Cough, Decongestant and Allergy and Cold medicines, with retailers asked to return the products immediately.

A Food and Drug Administration (FDA) spokesman said the order had not been initiated because of consumer complaints or negative reactions.

Late last month, J&J recalled 40 widely used nonprescription products for children and infants, such as Tylenol and Motrin, after FDA inspectors found filthy equipment and contaminated ingredients at the Pennsylvania factory. A subsequent plant report listed more than 20 problems.
